Welcome to the renewal of Ruby-Throated Spirit’s website and the initiation of this blog, thanks to my brilliant daughter, Rose Beverly!

As we open the door to 2025 and the daylight increases, I feel all our holiday greetings as reaching out to hold hands as we step into the unknown. Our connections and bonds are so important to appreciate and acknowledge – strength, nourishment and faith are transmitted vibrationally between us.

I always look to the astrology of new beginnings for support and illumination. I wrote this interpretation of what I saw in the Winter Solstice Chart, birth of Winter season, Sun in Capricorn, and a new Sun cycle, using Ruby-Throated Spirit for location:

The astrological pattern of the energies of this Solstice holds powerful intensity along with abundant compassionate love.
Communication is the key with curiosity and generosity. 
We are learning from and teaching each other, erupting under pressure into a renewed sense of spiritual purpose, reaching into ourselves for the expression of our core values and self-reliance.
The language of care and attentiveness goes a long way to inspire and heal each other. 
There are surprises in relationships, people who awaken us and release us from our darkness with bright messages of new possibilities. 
We are grounding ourselves in the home of our spiritual truth.
The impulse to grow is checked by the need to conserve, and thought vies with feeling. 
Our courage and fear are both summoned by the unknown depths.
Again, communication and affirmation of purpose, with loving, creative presence are the way through the dark night.

My understanding of the relevance of astrology is based on the belief that we each have a soul. With that premise, our souls have chosen to come into physical Earth existence to fulfill a purpose (or several). The birthchart, reflecting the pattern of energies at our births, is specifically chosen by our souls, to help us fulfill that purpose. This purpose informs and vibrates within our life work, our way of relating, our travels, endeavors, adventures, and solitude. It kindles our inner light which emanates from us naturally. As the planets continue their cyclical motion, new patterns are continually arising, and we respond to the energy shifts and evolve, maturing and refining throughout our lives. 

Reaffirming our purpose and remembering our inner light is the power available to each of us to affect the reality around us. We en-courage ourselves. And when we communicate what is truly important to us with each other, we encourage and support each other. Listening attentively nourishes the expression of the one who is speaking or writing. It is a form of magic. Witnessing, reflecting, and responding are just as important as articulating and revealing. The mutual energy exchanged feeds our light.

Our light grows and, glowing, we simultaneously light the way, through whatever seems dark on our paths, for ourselves and each other.
